Study +
This service is available to every student, both full and part time, including mature learners. We offer help with the skills for life/essential skills that learners need for their course. This includes grammar, spelling, punctuation, reading for information, handwriting, basic keyboarding, and maths support. Study+ will be built into individual learner timetables as required. Study+ also caters for learners with specific difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, Irlen syndrome. Specialist teachers are offered to support you through your studies and functional skills are embedded into your programme of study, but where this is inappropriate learners will be encourages to work towards foundation qualifications
Functional Skills >
Functional Skills provides help with Numeracy, Literacy and ICT. Most vocational fulltime students have Functional Skills built into their learning programmes. Being able to communicate effectively, to be numerate and IT literate are skills that all employers seek and that will often make the difference to getting a job and in career progression.
